Maintains a listserve which is used to share ideas and developments in Georgia Libraries and serves as an information center for association news and business

GLA is associated with the American Association of School Librarians, the Association of College and Research Libraries, and the Council of Library Administration and Management Association.

It is affiliated with the Public Library Association, the Freedom to Read Foundation, the Southeastern Library Association, and the Georgia Association of Media Assistants.

GLA's Mission:

Developing an understanding of the place that libraries should take in advancing the educational, cultural, and economic life of the state.
